Teddy Bears Go Blogging

Teachers definitely need to be very creative regardless of the age of their students. English teachers for sure need to think about different ways to engage their students on reading and writing tasks. The blogging activity mentioned in the article is a cute exercise that not only helped students to improve their writing skills but also helped them to learn about different cultures and traditions.
I haven’t been using blogs in my personal life neither in my work, but that is one of my goals for next year. The article mentioned three important facts that can be developed through blogging: it allows student’s interaction with each other and the development of writing skills, it allows them to record messages (practice the language orally), it allows the students to learn beyond the classroom (instruction doesn’t stop after the bells ring). For teaching a foreign language I think those are great possibilities and it will help improve student’s learning in a meaningful way.
